The first weekend of November arrived with the debut of the College Football Playoff rankings, and while Week 10 didn’t feature the most headline-grabbing slate on paper, it still provided clarity to some of the questions the committee and fans have been debating for weeks. Ohio State and Indiana kept cruising with dominant wins, leaving little doubt about their place atop the standings, while Georgia and Alabama each took care of business in rivalry and tune-up spots ahead of critical stretches. Texas A&M, BYU, and Oregon enjoyed much-needed rest before massive matchups on the horizon, while others saw their playoff hopes take serious hits. Georgia Tech’s unbeaten run came to an end at NC State, Miami’s late-game collapse at SMU further clouded the ACC picture, and Vanderbilt’s Cinderella story was finally halted in Austin against Texas. Utah made perhaps the biggest statement of the weekend with a demolition of Cincinnati, proving the Utes still belong in the national conversation. With the final stretch of the regular season arriving and teams trying to make late pushes into their respective conference championship games, these games will have much more weight than those from the first few weeks of the season, so it’s important for teams to look their best at this time of year.
